Welcome to my personal and lifestyle redesign blog, The Minimal Woman. I started to redesign my life in June of 2017 and decided to start this blog a year later in June 2018 to help keep me accountable and keep track of my progress and in hopes that I could help others work towards both mind and body health.
My initial goals in 2017 were to simplify my life and my belongings, spend less money, and lose a lot of weight. I was successful in some of these things. I was able to make some smart financial decisions (i.e. refinancing my student loans to get a low interest rate) and was able to lose a decent number of pounds, and would throw out a couple items in my house, but I really wasn’t making any lasting changes.
Early in 2017 after reading a couple articles and books on lifestyle design I realized that part of my problem was my goals. I decided to change my goals to be more about the things I wanted to do instead of what I wanted to lose. I wanted a house where I could have guests over without any notice. I wanted to be able to travel and collect memories instead of stuff. I wanted to be healthy enough to be able to do all the physical things I love, such as play soccer and white-water raft.
I decided it was finally time to truly make a Lifestyle and Personal Redesign and minimize both my life and my waistline to make myself the best Minimal Woman I could be.
